Since it was incorporated on March 7, 1913, Port Coquitlam has experienced significant growth and has strived to remain relevant to the changing times. Along with the cities of Coquitlam and Port Moody, and the Villages of Anmore and Belcarra, the suburban area is now commonly referred to as the "Tri-Cities".
