The Edmonton Warriors of the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Lacrosse League overcame a 4-1 deficit to defeat the Akwasasne Thunder of the Ontario Junior B Lacrosse League 9-7 to claim the Founders Cup Saturday afternoon in Port Coquitlam, BC. The Warriors outscored the Thunder 5-0 in the middle stanza only to have Akwasasne roar back to tie the game at 7 with 11 minutes left in regulation time. Edmonton's Dane Menon scored the eventual game winner with 8 minutes left and Coleman Carey added and insurance marker just over a minute later en route to the city's first national junior B championship since 1999.
Ben Royer led the attack for the Warriors with 3 goals and 2 assists, while Carson Wells turned aside 34 of 41 shots in goal.
